St. Paul Serves

Over 2,000 years ago, Paul instructs his student that he is to teach other Christians that: They are to do good, to be rich in good works, generous, and ready to share.” 1 Timothy 6:18

Paul’s instructions include no exceptions on generosity. He does not follow up his lesson with, “but, you know, if they don’t feel like it, or it makes them uncomfortable, that’s totally cool, they can just wait for the next opportunity, but only if they want to.”
We may be anxious about sharing our time or resources because we are worried about the amount of time and resources that we will have in the future. But we must remember, God has given to us abundantly. God has given us the world and the greatest love. When we share, we are making a statement, that we trust in God’s abundance.
If you’re ready to share, but are searching for opportunities, St. Paul has several ongoing and upcoming mission projects. Let St. Paul assist in your service!
Burrito Rolling
The St. Paul Beyond the Walls Team and Tweens invite you to make burritos for homeless people in Louisville. Your help is needed to make plenty of burritos on Wednesday, July 26 from 6:30-8:30pm. Once the burritos are made, the burritos will be picked up and distributed by Burrito Riders, a group in Louisville who bicycle around Louisville providing burritos to hungry people.

Open Door Ministry
Every second Saturday of the month St. Paul members volunteer at the Open Door Ministry at 4th Avenue United Methodist church. This ministry serves a hot meal to 100+ hungry and grateful people in Louisville. It is a great opportunity to serve the community with your family or Sunday School class. St. Paul currently has no one signed up to serve at the Open Door Ministry for the remainder of the year.

Kentucky Refugee Ministries
Kentucky Refugee Ministries (KRM) provides resettlement to refugees through faith-based co-sponsorships. KRM is designed to promote self-sufficiency and integration for refugees in Kentucky. One of the ways KRM has assisted with self-sufficiency is partnership with Goodwill.
Any time you donate clothes to Goodwill, you can request a “non-profit credit” for KRM. KRM then receives vouchers that they can provide to their clients so they can get the items that they need.
