The Seniors at St. Paul is a group of people, varied in age. Throughout the year this group hosts lunches, trips, and classes.

2018 Schedule

November 29, 2018 Derby Dinner Playhouse

The SPAMs will kick off the holiday season by visiting Derby Dinner Playhouse to have lunch and see the musical, Holiday Inn. Based on the classic film starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire, this joyous musical features thrilling dance numbers, laugh-out-loud comedy, and a hit parade of Irving Berlin songs. Not to be confused with White Christmas, which also showcases Irving Berlin classics including the beloved Christmas song, “White Christmas”, Holiday Inn is the story of an overworked song and dance trio. This production includes Irving Berlin classics, such as “Blue Skies,” “Steppin’ Out with My Baby,” “Cheek to Cheek,” “Easter Parade,” and of course, “White Christmas.”

Tickets are $34 and must be paid for by November 23rd. We have reserved 24 tickets and they are sure to go fast so sign up soon at the Information Desk! Payment will reserve your place.

The doors to the theatre open at 11:45a.m. We will meet in the lobby and enter the theatre as a group. If you are riding in the van or carpooling, please arrive at the church no later than 11:00a.m. We will depart promptly at 11:15a.m

Merry Christmas from the SPAMs!  The SPAMs will take their annual break in December and will resume activities in March.  Last year we devoted January and February to service projects and will do so again in 2019.  Look for dates and times in the January Tower. Speaking of January, the SPAMs team will use our time during the Leadership Training meeting in January to put together our calendar for the new year.  Would you like to be a part of the team? Do you have suggestions for activities and speakers? Come to the meeting with your ideas or share them with Cody or a member of the SPAMs team.  Keep up with the SPAMs by checking our bulletin board next to the elevator by the church offices and reading about us online, in the bulletin and in The Tower.

We will continue to share resources on topics of concern to folks over 50.  If you are 50 or older, you might be interested in this new website designed for, in their words,  “a generation that refuses to be defined by age or marginalized by other people’s ideas of what it means to be 50 or 60 or 70.”
