Our Mobile Resource Center provides resources to guests at Fourth Avenue UMC’s Open Door Community Ministry. We load up the St Paul bus and distribute new underwear, socks, and t-shirts, gently-used shoes and clothing, hygiene items, and bottled water to those in need. So far, we have served approximately 50-75 people at each event.

The Mobile Resource Center and our partnership with Fourth Avenue UMC was highlighted on the Kentucky Conference website. Read the article here.

Please enjoy the following video, which provides an overview of the services provided by the Resource Center, St. Paul’s primary outreach to the Louisville community.

Volunteer!

WE NEED YOU! We need about 14-16 volunteers at each Mobile Resource Center for it to run as smoothly as possible.

Volunteers will help with set-up and tear-down, as well as distributing our resources to Open Door’s guests. We also need a few volunteers to help load and unload the bus before and after the event.

If you would like to volunteer to help with this event, please sign up here:

Can’t volunteer? You can still help! We always needs donations (both financial and physical).

To make your donation shopping a little easier, you can purchase from our wish lists, which will ship the items directly to the church:

Visit our Amazon Wish List here.

Visit our Dollar Days Wish List here.

Or you can drop off new or gently-used items in the Resource Center donations bins in the Family Life Center lobby or the elevator lobby in the main building. Items we typically need at our Mobile Resource Center include the following (some of which can be found in the wish lists above):

Long-sleeved t-shirts, especially for men

Men’s pants – all sizes

Men’s and women’s sturdy shoes and boots

Lightweight jackets and sweaters

Coats, hats, and gloves will soon be needed for winter
