Mobile Resource Center

Mobile Resource Center

Saturday, July 10 • 11:00am-1:00pm
Fourth Ave. UMC

Our first Mobile Resource Center on June 12 was a hit! So we’re doing it again!

On Saturday, July 10, we will again load up the St. Paul bus and take it on the road to Fourth Avenue UMC’s Open Door Ministry to distribute new underwear and t-shirts, gently-used shoes and summer clothing, hygiene items, and bottled water to those in need.

If you would like to volunteer to help with this event, please contact Sara Ferebee, Director of Communications & Outreach, at If the July date doesn’t work, no worries! We plan to have this event every second Saturday.

Volunteers will help with set-up and tear-down, as well as distributing our resources to Open Door’s guests.

Based on our first event, we’ve determined some the items that were popular or most needed. The following items can be dropped off in the Resource Center bins in the Family Life Center lobby or the elevator lobby in the main building.

New white men’s t-shirts, sizes L-3X

Large-sized men’s shoes, especially sizes 11-13 (or larger!)

Men’s shorts

Baseball caps

Individually-wrapped quality toothbrushes

Disposable razors

Body soap (bar soap)

Plastic bags (like Kroger or Target bags) – we use these as shopping bags for our guests to take home the items they choose

Ziploc bags – quart and gallon sizes
