During the month of October, St. Paul will again collect Thanksgiving Boxes to provide to the families of Waller-Williams students.
The Waller-Williams Environmental School is a JCPS school for students with severe emotional or behavioral issues. For the last few years, St. Paul has partnered with Waller-Williams to provide Thanksgiving boxes to the families of their students. Each box contains all the items for a Thanksgiving meal, except for the turkey, which is provided by another partner.
Last year, St. Paul delivered 114 Thanksgiving boxes to the Waller Williams school. This year, Waller-Williams has 130 students, and St. Paul will again provide Thanksgiving boxes to these students’ families.
In past years, we have collected food items and then gathered for a big boxing day to assemble the boxes. With the COVID-19 restrictions, we will not be able to gather, so we will do things a little differently. Here’s how you can help:
Purchase the following items, put them in a box, and bring them to St. Paul!
2 boxes of stuffing
1 box of cornbread mix
1 box of potatoes
2 boxes of mac n’ cheese
2 items of gravy
1 large can of yams (or 2-15oz cans)
2 cans of green beans (15oz cans)
2 cans of corn (15oz cans)
2 desserts (cake or brownie mixes)
A note or card of greeting (optional)
If you don’t have a box to put the items in, no worries. You can drop off items in bags, and the youth will box the items for you!
Can’t shop? Donate online and we’ll do the shopping for you. Go to our Online Giving portal and choose “Mission Fund” from the drop-down menu and type “Thanksgiving Boxes” in the Note section.
• DROP OFF items at St. Paul – Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:00am-1:00pm.
• CURBSIDE drop-off – October 25 – 1:00-3:00pm – parking lot behind church.
