Holy Week and Easter

Holy Week and Easter

We are pleased to announce that we will begin having limited indoor services during Holy Week. The indoor services are limited to 100 persons. It will help us greatly in our planning if you would use the Signup Genius links below to let us know if you plan to attend the Holy Week and Easter Services. You can also email genie@stpaulchurchky.org or call the church office at 502-459-1595. You don’t have to have a reservation to attend, but your response allows us to plan accordingly. All services will also be broadcast on Facebook Live!

You are NOT limited to only one of these services. Please fill out the sign-up sheet for each service you plan to attend! We would love to see you at all of them!

All in-person events will follow Covid-19 protocols: masks, social distancing, and capacity limits.

Our Holy Week schedule:

Palm Sunday worship – 10:00am on Facebook Live

Maundy Thursday – 7:00pm in the Sanctuary with traditional stripping of the altar.

On this night, we remember the supper Jesus shared with his disciples before his suffering and crucifixion when he washed the Disciples’ feet and instituted the
Lord’s Supper. The word “Maundy” comes from the Latin for commandment. In John 13:34, Jesus said, “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” The service concludes with the stripping of the altar to demonstrate the desolation and abandonment of the long night in Gethsemane and all that followed.

Good Friday – 7:00pm in-person service in the Gym, featuring stations of the cross.

The Good Friday service will lead participants through Jesus’ experiences before, during, and after His crucifixion on the original Good Friday. It will consist of multiple stations that will offer readings, depictions, and meditations about each step along Christ’s journey when He laid down His life for the world.
