Valaterra is located on over 100 acres of beautiful wooded valleys and rolling fields near Louisville, Kentucky. Amidst some of the most forested land along Harrods Creek, connection with the land is encouraged here through hiking trails and outdoor meeting spaces. A fresh water spring, large boulders, rocky cliffs and wild flowers await your visit.
Valerie designed the Sanctuary House with an environmental ethos in mind. The primary wood supports of the house are from an old barn and the floors are reclaimed chestnut. The walls are constructed from foot thick Durisol block. High efficiency geothermal heating and cooling is used throughout the house. No dry wall was used in the interior, all walls are American Clay. The kitchen is equipped with state of the art energy efficient appliances.
