Pop-up Clothes Closet

Pop-up Clothes Closet at Fourth Avenue UMC’s Open Door Ministry
Saturday, June 12  • 11:00am-1:30pm

The Beyond the Walls Team is excited to finally offer an in-person outreach opportunity for St. Paul members and friends!

On Saturday, June 12, we will take the St. Paul van, filled with clothing and hygiene items, to Fourth Avenue UMC. As many of you know, Fourth Ave’s Open Door Ministry provides a hot meal to dozens of people in need in Old Louisville five days per week.

The Open Door Ministry’s primary focus is providing a meal, so St. Paul is going to use its resources from the generosity of those who donate to our Resource Center to offer a pop-up clothes closet, offering new underwear and t-shirts, gently-used shoes and summer clothing, hygiene items, and bottled water.

If you would like to volunteer to help with this event, please contact Sara Ferebee, Director of Communications & Outreach, at sara@stpaulchurchky.org.

Volunteers will help with set-up and tear-down, as well as distributing our resources to Open Door’s guests.

We are also accepting donations of gently-used summer clothes (especially men’s clothing), travel-size hygiene items, and bottled water. Donations may be dropped off at St. Paul in the bins marked Resource Center Donations.

St. Paul will provide the new underwear and t-shirts.

If all goes well, we hope to make the Pop-up Clothes Closet a monthly event!
