Building Resilience in Children and Youth

Join us for Wesley nights this fall as we learn from experts in our community how to build resilience in our children and youth—from addressing depression and anxiety to building grit and confidence to having difficult conversations. The sessions are free and open to all.
Our children and youth face much stress these days. We want them to learn healthy coping skills and be resilient in the midst of life’s challenges. Come learn ways to build resilience in our children and youth from experts in our community. Our initial event on September 11 will start at 6:30 pm with the showing of the film Paper Tigers. The following Wednesday nights, September 18-October 23, the session will start at 7 pm until 8 pm with the last 15 minutes reserved for questions and answers. We will also have a follow up discussion group the Sundays following each Wednesday night presentation beginning on September 15 at 10 am.

September 25: Building Grit and Confidence – 7:00pm with Tony Zipple, Sc.D., M.B.A., psychologist
October 2: Guided Meditation – 7:00pm with Marilyn Stoner, retired social worker
October 9: Cyber Safety 101 – 7:00pm with Sonja Grey, Executive Director of ECHO, Exploited Children’s Help Organization
October 16: Depression and Anxiety – 7:00pm with Cathy Batscha, psychiatric nursing professor
October 23: Difficult Conversations – 7:00pm with Katy Hopkins, PhD, HSPP, pediatric psychologist
