Dawn is Breaking

Dawn is Breaking

Dawn is Breaking

By Amy Lee Carpenter, Director of Communications
To my knowledge, humanity has never been separated from fear, anger, or loss. The ancestors of our ancestors worried, like we worry,  they have been hurt, like we get hurt. Crack open nearly any page of any history book and there is a story of tragedy, a reality that probably shook our predecessors to the point of quaking and asking “how could this happen?” We face a personal loss or loss of a loved one and we of course, feel distressed. Our hearts break when we feel injustice. Our minds wonder about our future success.

Fear is easy. Faith is harder.

Faith is beautiful. Faith is motivating. Faith moves mountains.

We continue to be reminded that fear is not uncommon when we read the Christmas story.

Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.
-Luke 2:10

The shepherds were terrified in the very second before learning of a miracle. The very second before.

Then, the dawn broke for them.

This Advent and Christmas, we are celebrating the breaking dawn — the hope and love of Jesus Christ that is more glorious and awesome than any apprehension or anguish. You are invited this season to be a part of the St. Paul community as we relish in the hope that God provides.
