2017 FUSION PHILLY: “WE BELIEVE” MISSION TOUR
The St. Paul Youth Group and Youth Choir will head out on their: FUSION PHILLY “WE BELIEVE” Mission Tour on Saturday, June 10-Friday, June 16. The 2017 tour takes the group to Blacksburg Virginia, Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Trenton New Jersey, New York New York, Harrisburg Pennsylvania and finally Harrisonburg Virginia.
50 youth and adults will head to churches, inner-city shelters, senior centers, and plenty of historical and fun sites in and around Philadelphia and New York City. Rev. Griffin Phillips, Minister of Youth and Young Adults, and Jim Rittenhouse, Associate Director of Music Ministries, are leading the group, and have planned the service and singing opportunities for a week of music and hands-on-mission, and most importantly, touching the lives of those who are hungry for the love of God.
Please pray for all the chaperones and students as they prepare to do mission work or sing for:
- Blacksburg UMC (Virginia)
- InterFaith Food Pantry (Virginia)
- Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission (Philadelphia)
- The Philadelphia Project (Philadelphia)
- Kingston UMC (NJ)
- The Bowery Mission (NYC)
- Holy Apostles Church Mission (NYC)
- Bethesda Mission (Harrisburg, PA)
- Asbury UMC (Harrisonburg, VA).
At these locations, we will have the opportunity to sing, serving food, spending time with people receiving care, helping youth with homework, helping with after school programs and more! We will be growing in our music but in our love of neighbor and faith, too!
Many have asked how they can help. Here are some tangible, and morally-supportive ways:
(1) Donate for Scholarships.
We have a couple of kids whom we will support financially to go on this mission. If you have the means to pay for all or part of a scholarship, and are willing to support, please let Jim Rittenhouse (firstname.lastname@example.org) know. The cost of the trip is $375 per person.
Something we all can do for these great kids, for those to whom they will minister, for their parents, for the chaperones, and for the great message of the collective praise of our Creator to be heard.
(3) Assist with preparations.
If you would like to assist with the preparation of this mission trip, please let Rev. Griffin Phillips, Minister of Youth and Young Adults, know by emailing her at email@example.com. We are getting some great interest, but our youth deserve all the cloud of witnesses possible!
Glory to God for the support of St. Paul Church to send us on mission to spread the good news of Christ!
It’s going to be a busy week for this group. If you’re planning on attending and would like to see what’s been planned, download the itinerary.
